Title: Determining on concentration of endogenous oxidants and antioxidants and their clinical significance in patients with cerebral hemorrhage
Abstract: Objective To investigate levels of nitric oxide (NO),nitric oxide synthzse(NOS),malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),VitC and VitE in serum and the clinical significance in patients with cerebral hemrrhage. Methods The levels of NO,NOS,MDA,SOD,VitC and VitE in serum were measured by biochemical assays in 70 cases with cerebral hemorrhage and control groups. Results The levels of No and NOS and MDA in serum in the cerebral hemorrhage group were higher than those in control group (P0.001).The levels of No and NOS and MDA started to increase significantly druing first week, they began to decrease from the second week to the forth week.SOD and VitC and VitE serum levels were significantly lower than those in controls (P0.05~0.01).The levels of SOD and VitC and VitE in the cerebral hemorrhage group started to lower significantly during first week, they began to increase from the second week to the forth week. Conclusions Endogenous oxidants and antioxidants might be the sensitive indexs which can reflact brain injury, and help monitor the prognosis of cerebral hemorrhage.
