Earlier this year we reported via the Centers for Disease Control an outbreak of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome among Haitians in Miami (2). Ten of the 20 patients had a recent history of tuberculosis or concurrent tuberculosis, and in 8 patients the tuberculosis was disseminated. These eight Haitian patients with disseminated tuberculosis associated with the syndrome represent 26% of all Haitian patients with disseminated tuberculosis counted by Dade County Public Health Department from January 1979 through September 1982.
