Title: A Study on the Development of Accuracy using a cheap GPS Receiver in Car Navigation System
Abstract: Car Navigation System provides the driver with the information about the road and leads more convenient way when driving. Because CNS uses only the data from the single GPS, decision of location or direction may contain a lot of errors in it. These errors may disturb information of the location of roads or may not distinguish the neighbor road. And it has few advantage for single GPS when in use in the field of survey, because it is made only with simple purpose - the decision of the location. The aim of this study is to reduce the errors from single GPS surveying, and to provide the standard of basis with reliable Differential GPS data. When DGPS is connected to CNS, it is possible to be transmitted the accurate data from the GPS satellites with differential GPS signal. High accuracy of DGPS data can be used as the standard of surveying to verify the quality of the digital map, as well as publish the digital map. And, because the car moves in high speed, CNS can measure the area of wide field immediately and easily, for example wide constructing site. So, in this study, the use of DGPS instead of GPS in CNS makes possible to acquisite accurate location data, and to be used in rapid surveying for the large area with and high precision and accuracy in cheap price. With the results of these experiments, it is proved that the accuracy of DGPS has enhanced up to 39.5% relative to the surveying using GPS.
