Title: ANALYSIS OF CONFLICTS AT CROSSINGS EQUIPPED WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS
Abstract: Traffic jams and accidents are often due to the irregular shape of crossings, unfavourable signalling conditions, too short protection times and to the lack of coordination between traffic signs and signals and carriageway markings. They are also due to undefined traffic conditions when cycles change, to inadequate speed in the green wave and to the sudden starts of cars. Those conditions are analyzed and illustrated by examples in this paper. (TRRL)
