Title: DEVELOPMENT OF THE DETROIT-CHICAGO HIGH SPEED RAIL CORRIDOR
Abstract: This paper discusses the development of the Detroit-Chicago High Speed Rail corridor. The considerations for this project involved exploring what opportunities there are for using portions of the US rail network to solve some of the pollution and congestion problems confronting our major urban areas. It is in that context the term high speed rail has frequently been used. It is important to distinguish just what our industry defines high speed rail and what is not. This project will develop a high speed corridor in the Detroit-Chicago area.
