Abstract: The article discusses the contract awarded to the Consortium to introduce the country's first high-speed rail service running on the Northeast Corridor. The Consortium members will design and manufacture up to 18 trainsets, with each trainset consisting of two power cars and six coaches, and the supply of 15 high-horsepower electric locomotives to be used in Amtrak's Northeast corridor fleet.
