Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe the process and present the findings of an analysis for determining the configuration of bus routes and the location(s) of a facility to accommodate bus patrons transferring from one route to another or boarding and alighting from and to downtown origins and destinations. The paper also describes the public involvement process which included the comments and opinions of the downtown business and merchants association, downtown residents, transit riders, and the general public. The location in question is downtown Houston, Texas.
