Title: Fruit Rot of Chilli incited by Colletotrichum capsici and Management through Plant products
Abstract: Seven partially purified plant products were screened against Colletotrichum capsici in vitro and in vivo. Bitter temru (Diospyros cordifolia) fruit and datura (Datura stramonium) leaves inhibited the maximum mycelial growth and spore germination of C. capsici, while minimum was recorded in sandal seed. The bitter temru and datura leaves showed maximum reduction in the incidence of fruit rot. The highest disease severity was recorded in C. capsici with sandal (Santalum album) treated seed. In pot study the chilli fruit rot was effectively controlled by three successive spray of bitter temru fruit, datura leaves and Emcop-L. fungicide.
