Title: Post Harvest Diseases of Tomato in Jabalpur and Control of the Alternaria Rot
Abstract: Alternaria tenuis, Rhizopus nigricans, Oospora lactis f. parasitica, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium solani, Colletotrichum phomoides and Curvularia lunata were invariably isolated from tomato fruits collected from local market of Jabalpur during 1969–70 showing rotting symptoms. The combined effect of fruit dip and treatment of wrapping or padding material with diphenylamine or Aureofungin is suggested for the control of Alternaria rot.
