Title: A Note on the Relationship between the Administrative Hierarchical Systems and the Number of Employees
Abstract: THE CITY SIZE, MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES, MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE HIERARCHICAL SYSTEM OF ADMINISTRATION. THE PRESENT PAPER ANALYZES THE EFFECT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS USING A SIMPLE ONE-DIMENSIONAL MODEL. IT IS SHOWN THAT CHANGE OF ADMINISTRATIVE HIERARCHICAL SYSTEMS MAY SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE THE EXCESSIVE-CONCENTRATION OF EMPLOYEES TO FEW CITIES. IN PARTICULAR, THE ADOPTION OF EXCLUSIVE HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURES IS SHOWN TO BE EFFECTIVE, THOUGH THIS MAY BE DIFFICULT TO IMPLEMENT BECAUSE OF DIFFICULTIES IN ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT.
