Title: Optimization of Successively Inclusive Hierarchical Facilities on a Plane
Abstract: IN THIS PAPER, WE DISCUSS HOW TO OPTIMIZE SUCCESSIVELY INCLUSIVE HIERARCHICAL FACILITIES ON A PLANE. WE HAVE TWO IMPORTANT ELEMENTS TO OPTIMIZE. ONE IS THE SPATIAL CONFIGURATION OF HIERARCHICAL FACILITIES, THE OTHER IS THE HIERARCHY OF FACILITIES/SERVICES. IN THE LITERATURE, MOST METHODS OPTIMIZE THE SPATIAL CONFIGURATION OF HIERARCHICAL FACILITIES FOR A GIVEN HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE. HOWEVER, THE HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE SHOULD ALSO BE OPTIMIZED. THEREFORE, WE PROPOSE A METHOD THAT OPTIMIZES NOT ONLY A SPATIAL CONFIGURATION BUT ALSO A HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE. FIRST, WE EXPLAIN CONCEPTS OF A HIERARCHICAL FACILITY SYSTEM AND FORMULATE ITS OPTIMIZATION PROBLEM. SECOND, WE EXPLAIN THE COMPUTATIONAL METHOD. LAST, WE EXAMINE SOME NUMERICAL EXAMPLES. THE EXAMINATIONS SHOW THAT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PROPOSED ALGOLITHM IS GOOD.
