Title: Experiment on mulberry sawdust formula for high-yield cultivation of Pleurotus geesteranus.
Abstract: 【Objective】Cultivation of Pleurotus geesteranus with different proportions of mulberry sawdust additive was studied in order to obtain high-yield cultivation formula. 【Method】The formulas with different proportions of mulberry sawdust (15, 30, 60 and 90%) were designed to investigate the hypha growth. Fresh mushroom yield and biological transformation rate during sterilization, inoculation, culture, harvesting and packaging of mushrooms were compared with control (traditional culture methodology using sawdust and cotton seed hull). 【Results】The cultivation formula using mulberry sawdust normally facilitated the hypha growth, but the best formula developed in this study had the following ingredients: mulberry sawdust 60%, cotton seed hull 25%, wheat bran 12%, gypsum 1% and lime 2%. 【Conclusion】The use of mulberry branches as raw materials for mushroom production was not only found to help in recycling of bye products but also saved the cost of production and increased benefits. The developed formula may be recommended for silkworm production areas in Guangxi.
