Title: Assessment of the structure of fish assembly of a North-Patagonian coastal reef subjected to different anthropic impacts
Abstract: En comparacion con los arrecifes de regiones tropicales, los arrecifes rocosos de la costa patagonica se caracterizan por una menor riqueza especifca, pero una mayor biomasa y proporcion de peces de gran tamano. Estos arrecifes son afectados por cambios estacionales notables que impactan sobre la abundancia y la diversidad de peces. Considerando la escasez de estudios realizados sobre estos ecosistemas en la region norpatagonica, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar los cambios potenciales en la estructura del ensamble de peces en un arrecife rocoso del Golfo San Matias tras mas de 20 anos de estar sujeto a diversos impactos antropicos y a cambios ambientales. Ademas, se evaluo la variacion del ensamble y su relacion con las caracteristicas ambientales a lo largo de un ciclo anual. Para esto, se realizo un muestreo mediante buceo autonomo en el Parque Submarino Las Grutas. Se identifco el mismo conjunto ictico que el descripto previamente en base a datos de 1990, conformado por cinco especies templado-calidas —Diplodus argenteus, Pinguipes brasilianus, Acanthistius patachonicus, Serranus auriga y Pseudopercis semifasciata— y un unico registro de una especie templado-fria, Congiopodus peruvianus. Sin embargo, se identifco un aumento de la abundancia para la totalidad de las especies; incluso, algunas como D. argenteus y S. auriga duplicaron y triplicaron, respectivamente, su abundancia respecto a los valores de 1990. Este aumento podria deberse a cambios ambientales (e.g., de la produccion primaria o de la temperatura del mar) que favorecerian el aumento de las poblaciones de peces o el desplazamiento de peces desde poblaciones cercanas. Con este trabajo destacamos la importancia de realizar monitoreos a largo plazo a fn de evaluar el estado de los ecosistemas costeros y establecer medidas de manejo y conservacion que preserven su estructura y funcionamiento a lo largo del tiempo.
