Title: ICT AND TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS:A LITERATURE REVIEW
Abstract: In this technological era, the integration of Information and Communication Technology in teaching-learning process is of paramount importance. ICT stimulates new approaches to teaching and learning. ICT influences not only what students should learn‟ but also how the students should learn‟. In this paper, over twenty scholarly articles (ranging from the year 2001 to 2019) were reviewed to find out the role of ICT on teacher effectiveness. Factors that affect ICT integration in teaching and learning processes were also explored. Based on the reviews, it was quite clear that ICT has a positive and direct effect on teacher effectiveness. Both the students and teachers are benefitted by the integration of ICT in the teaching and learning processes. The paper recommended that teachers must update their knowledge and skills to be efficient with respect to ICT usage, further there should be proper incorporation of ICT in schools especially in developing countries so as to improve teacher effectiveness and consequently students‟ academic performance.
