Title: Expression of microRNA-10b in gastric carcinoma and the clinical significance
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of microRNA (miR)-10b in gastric carcinoma and the clinical significance. Methods Seventy-eight pairs of human gastric carcinoma tissue samples were obtained from patients who underwent surgical resection. The level of miR-10b in 78 gastric carcinoma and the adjacent normal tissues was quantified by SYBR Green Ⅰ real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR),and the relationship between miR-10b and clinicopathological features in gastric carcinoma was explored. Results The expression of miR-10b in gastric carcinoma tissues (6.758 ±2.301) was significantly increased as compared with that in the adjacent normal tissues (8.516 ± 1.870,P < 0.01).The evaluated level of miR-10b was associated with TNM classification (P < 0.01),tumor size (P < 0.01),lymph node metastases (P < 0.01) and local invasion in gastric carcinoma (P < 0.01),but not with sex, age, and differentiation (all P > 0.05).Conclusion These findings suggested miR-10b may play important roles in the development, progression, invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma.
