The paper describes the vehicle and bridge models, and then introduces bridge/vehicle interactive equations, rail irregularities, as well as track stiffness on the approaches to the ramp/bridge interface and bridge. The results are also presented of a case study which show the impact percentages of the bridge. The details of the study are described in which a 2-vehicle train that occupied the entire span of the bridge was used in the computation. The equations of motion for the vehicle, bridge, and bridge/vehicle interaction were solved by using a fourth order Runge-Kutta integration scheme.Read More
