Title: Imaginaires associés aux avancées de la génétique et « médecine du futur »
Abstract: Des avancées importantes en recherche moléculaire grâce aux possibilités de séquençage à haut débit de l'ADN permettent des traitements “sur mesure ” de certaines maladies ainsi que l’avènement d’un ensemble de connaissances prédictives (prédispositions génétiques, tests en ligne). Cette “médecine du futur”, sous l’impulsion de la bio-informatique et de l’ingénierie génétique, suscite des espoirs et des craintes. Une étude par forums citoyens a été réalisée en Suisse romande afin de recueillir les avis et les préoccupations des membres du public (n=73) autour de ces enjeux. Une activité d’imagination prospective d’un monde “merveilleux” porté par les bienfaits de la génétique, ainsi que d’un monde “affreux” conditionné par ses aléas a été proposée. L’analyse des données a fait émerger d’une part une figure fictive, l’homo geneticus, qui recueille les caractéristiques d’une génétisation idéale, contrebalancée, d’autre part, par les dilemmes que pose l’accès pour tous à l’application des connaissances génétiques.
