Title: Efficacy of bicanalicular stents intubation for traumatic lower lacrimal canalicular laceration
Abstract: Objective
To evaluate the efficacy of bicanalicular stents intubation for the treatment of traumatic lower lacrimal canalicular laceration.
Methods
The clinical data of 33 eyes of 33 cases with lower lacrimal canalicular laceration from Jan. 2017 to Feb. 2018 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. The proximal end of the canalicular lacerations was found under microscope. Bicanalicular stents intubation was performed during operation. The lacrimal stent was removed 3 months after surgery. The follow-up time was 6 months.
Results
The lacrimal canaliculus segment of all cases were found successfully under operating microscope.Thirty-one cases (93.9%) were cured, 2 cases (6.1%) were effective.
Conclusion
Bicanalicular stents intubation for the treatment of traumatic lower lacrimal canalicular laceration is effective and safe.
