Title: Contextualising sustainable infrastructure development in Nigeria
Abstract: The clamour for sustainability in all spheres of development is more in the developed economies but the responsibility is no less for the developing economies. Efforts targeted at sustaining infrastructural development in Nigeria are deficient in context and formalisation. This paper therefore contributes to the efforts at formalising and contextualising sustainable infrastructural development in Nigeria. The paper relied on literature review for textual data in support of sustainable infrastructural development. The findings reveal the state of infrastructure development and approaches that are strategic to the development of sustainable infrastructure in Nigeria. The suggested approaches grinded on global best practice and made to reflect the peculiarity of the contemporary Nigerian environment. The paper advocates for a more committed government effort and an inclusive civil society participation in sustainable infrastructure development in Nigeria.
