Title: Use of urodynamics in the diagnosis and treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia
Abstract: Objective To study the significance of urodynamics in the diagnosis and therapy of benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH).Methods To determine uroflometry, residual urine volume, filling cystonetry,pressure-flow study, urethral pressure profile with 103 cases of BPH, and to analyze the results. Results Of 103 cases with uroflometry,25 cases without voluntary micturition, 78 cases' maximum flow rate(MFR)<15 ml/s,average flow rate(AFR)<10 ml/s.And 67 cases with detrusor stability,36 cases with detrusor instability, 11 cases with high compliance bladder, 22 cases with low compliance bladder, 70 cases with normal compliance bladder;21 cases with filling of bladder hypoesthesia,23 cases with hyperesthesia,59 cases with euesthesia, 78 cases with contractile detrusor. Through P/Q reveal, there were 66 cases with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) ,12 cases were suspicious BOO,25 cases with lower contractile detrusor and without voluntary micturition. The prostates and urethral functional lenghth of 103 cases were prolong,of 75 cases with high pressure of bladder neck. Conclusions Urodynamics test provides great value in diagnosis of BOO and important appraisal function of detrusor, and has important significance to the diagnosis and treatment of BPH.
