Title: The effects of whole course health education path on the quality of life in patients with depression
Abstract: Objective
To investigate the application of health education path for improving the quality of life in patients with depression.
Methods
On March to November of 2011,67 cases of inpatients with major depression in our hospital mental wards were randomly divided into the observation group(34 cases)and control group(33 cases). During hospitalization and 6 months of discharging from hospital, patients in the observation group were received health education path,while patients in the control group were only received routine health education. Two groups of patients were assessed by WHO quality of life scale(WHOQOL-100)score in 24 h after admission,at discharge and 6 months after discharging from hospital.
Results
In the observation group,the life quality score at discharge and at six months after discharging were statistically better than that in the control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).
Conclusions
The application of full health education path can effectively improve the quality of life in patients with depression.
