Title: Executive Decrees: The American Executive Order and the Brazilian Medida Provisória (Provisional Measure), A Comparative Analysis
Abstract: The evolution of how the Executive branch of both Brazil and the United States issue Executive decrees has changed over time. American Presidents have consistently increased the number of executive orders issued over the course of the last 50 years. The Brazilian Executive has also seen a resurgence in the government's power to conduct Legislative deliberation. This paper aims to compare and contrast both the medida provisoria issued by Brazilian Presidents and the executive order issued by U.S. Presidents through a historic and analytical lens.
