Title: Clinical Observation of 56 Cases of Nephrotic Syndrome Treated with Fuqi Decoction and Western Medicine
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy on nephrotic syndrome treated with self-prepared Chinese medicine, fuqi decoction on the basis of western medicine. Methods 112 cases of nephritic syndrome were collected from the inpatients that were complied with the diagnostic standard from May 2006 to April 2010 and they were divided randomly into a treatment group and a control group,56 cases in each one.In control group, western medicine was applied simply. In treatment group,on the basis of treatment as control group,Chinese medicine, fuqi decoction was supplemented. The clinical efficacy, the score of Chinese medicine syndrome and the changes in biochemical markers were compared before and after treatment in two groups. Results In control group, the complete remission accounted for 28.6%,the significant remission for 30.3%,the partial remission for 23.2%,no remission for 12.5% and recurrence for 5.4%.In treatment group, the complete remission accounted for 44.6%,the significant remission for 26.8%,the partial remission for 17.9%,no remission for 7.1% and recurrence for 3.6%.The comparison of efficacy grade between two groups indicated significant difference(P0.05).Either group reduced significantly the score of Chinese medicine syndrome(P0.01),but the result in treatment group was better than that in control group(P0.05).The comparison of plasma albumin, urine protein, triglyceride, cholesterol and hemorheologic markers presented significant difference before and after treatment in two groups(P0.05 or P0.01),but the result in treatment group was better than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion In the principle of treatment as warming yang, benefiting water metabolism, resolving stasis, reducing toxin, nourishing blood and clearing heat, the self-prepared Chinese medicine, fuqi decoction is supplemented besides western medicine. The combined therapy achieves significantly superior efficacy on relieving the clinical symptoms and improving in laboratory biochemical markers such as albumin, blood lipid and hemorheologic markers as compared with simple western medicine.
