Title: Relationship between young and middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction with carotid ultrasound, lipidemia, blood glucose and viscosity
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship among young or middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction with carotid ultrasound, blood lipid, blood glucose and viscosity. Methods 52 young or middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction and 38 patients without diabetes mellitus,CHD,cerebral infarction were studied as test group and control group. The number and property of carotid atherosclerotic plaque and inner diameter of carotid artery were assessed by Doppler ultrasonography in all the patients,as well as blood lipid, blood glucose and viscosity were evaluated. Results In test group, the rate of carotid atherosclerotic plaque was 53.85%,the IMT and inner diameter of common carotid artery in test group were significantly different from control group (all P 0.01),and most of the atherosclerotic plaques (60.1%) were soft plaques. The levels of blood total cholesterol, triglyceride and viscosity were obviously higher in test group, than those incontrol group (all P 0.01).Conclusion Atherosclerotic plaque and metabolic disorders included blood lipid, blood glucose and viscosity are the common phenomena in the patients of young or middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction.Early intervention of carotid atherosclerotic plaque and metabolic disorders in young or middle-aged patients is important for prevention of cerebral infarction.
