Title: Comparative study of Cascaded H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter using different Phase Shifted PWM Techniques
Abstract: Cascaded H-bridge Multilevel inverter based on the serially connected power cells while utilizing low voltage standard component configuration, synthesizes high to medium voltage as its output. This leads to Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel inverter to achieve high level of voltage and current due to redundancy. This paper explores the options that can be used to reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion content introduced in the output when modulation techniques, explicitly Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation, are exerted on the 15 and 17 level of Cascaded H-Bridge Multi-level inverter. Phase Disposition has proven to be most efficient SPWM technique with the least percentage of THD. Simulink/MATLAB has been used for the simulation purposes and result are presented in this paper.
