Title: Dostoevsky’s tragic motifs in the theatre of Chekhov: “The Brothers Karamazov” by Nemirovich-Danchenko (Moscow Art Theatre, 1910)
Abstract: Исследуется спектакль Немировича-Данченко «Братья Карамазовы» 1910 г., ставший первой инсценировкой прозы в истории режиссерского театра.Целью исследования стало определение жанра этого спектакля по отношению к жанровым установкам романа Достоевского.В начале ХХ в. о Достоевском писали крупнейшие деятели искусства, особенно широко обсуждалась близость его романов к жанру трагедии.А вот Московскому Художественному театру трагедия не давалась, в чем его не раз упрекала критика.Но ведь МХТ сформировался в русле поэтики Чехова, который, поэтизируя повседневность, далеко уводил от канонов классической трагедии с ее героикой и предельностью.Тем не менее «чеховский» театр хотел охватить и этот чуждый ему жанр.В поисках путей трагедии Немирович-Данченко обратился к Достоевскому.Очевидно, что при работе над «Братьями Карамазовыми» изначальные позиции театра и литературного материала были взаимоотталкивающими. Эта коллизия выводит нас к принципиальному для театроведения вопросу о бытовании трагического жанра в театре жизненных соответствий, который автор статьи и стремится разрешить на примере спектакля «Братья Карамазовы».В ходе авторских рассуждений выявлено, что принципиальный конфликт между мировоззренческими установками жизнеподобной эстетики и трагическим мировидением Достоевского неустраним, однако театральный потенциал его прозы позволяет актерам подниматься к трагическим высотам.И кризис катарсиса как основного элемента трагедии, с которым театр столкнулся на пороге ХХ в., по-своему разрешается театром жизненных соответствий.
