Title: Extraction and composition of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide by GC.
Abstract: Water-soluble polysaccharide was isolated and extracted from Lycium barbarum L..The components of the water-soluble polysaccharide were identified and quantified by Gas Chromatography(GC).The polysaccharide was extracted by water and deposited by ethanol.Then the extract was deproteinated by Sevage method and further purified by Sephadex G-75 column.The results showed that the Lycium barbarum polysaccharide(LBP) contained rhamnose, arabinose, xylose, mannose, glucose and galactose, and their percentage were 5.59%, 45.57%, 4.07%, 1.85%, 7.83%, and 35.07%, respectively.
