Title: La Comisión de obispos en Roma y su apoyo al conflicto armado
Abstract: En septiembre de 1926, tres obispos mexicanos fueron comisionados para informar a Roma de los acontecimientos que se vivían en el país a causa de la suspensión del culto y de la aplicación de la ley del presidente Calles que castigaba penalmente delitos por infringir leyes que regulaban la práctica religiosa. Dicha comisión, muy pronto se convirtió en un ente autónomo que, más que informar a Roma sobre la situación de México, se dedicó a hacer llegar a los obispos mexicanos apreciaciones muy personales como si hubieran sido emanadas por la Santa Sede, encaminadas a reforzar la postura intransigente. Después de un año, la Santa Sede disolvió esa comisión para evitar que siguieran las malinterpretaciones y malos entendidos. Este artículo desarrolla el modo en que esa comisión llegó a significarse casi como uno de los autores relevantes del conflicto, especialmente entre 1926 y 1927.
