Title: Relation of Apolipoproteins to Severity of Angiographically Defined Coronary Atherosclerosis
Abstract: The relationship of coronary atherosclerosis to with plasma lipids and apoproteins was examined in 143 male patients aged 40-59 years undergoing coronary angiography. Although the plasma levels of apoprotein A-I (apo A-I), A-II (apo A-II) and B (apo B) were not related with severity of coronary atherosclerosis determined by coronary angiography, but significant relationship was found between the severity of the coronary atherosclerosis and apo B/apo A-I ratio as well as between apo B/apo A-II ratio. The coronary atherosclerosis was less severe in light drinkers compared with non-drinkers.
