Title: The Censuses Carried out by the Civilian-Military Order Commission of the Cracow Voivodeship as a Source for Demographic Research, Exemplified by the Proszowice County
Abstract: W artykule podjęto tematykę wykorzystania spisów Komisji Porządkowej Cywilno-Wojskowej Województwa Krakowskiego jako źródła do badań demograficznych na przykładzie powiatu proszowickiego. Spisy te powstały w latach 1790–1792 i nie miały charakteru podatkowego, stąd w większości są uważane za bardziej dokładne i wiarygodne niż te sporządzane wcześniej przy różnych okazjach. W tekście obszernie omówiono specyficzny charakter tego typu źródeł i wszelkiego rodzaju trudności, jakie wiążą sięz jego opracowaniem – takie jak pominięcia części ludności, zawiłości terminologiczne, niejasny podział na gospodarstwa domowe. Szczególnie dużo uwagi poświęcono ocenie wiarygodności źródła, podając wartości wskaźników, takich jak odsetek najmłodszych dzieci i osób starszych w populacji, współczynnik maskulinizacji wśród niemowląt. Przy analizie skupień wieku posłużono się indeksami Whipple'a i Myersa. Wyciągnięte wnioski wskazują, że szczególnie przy analizie wieku spisy okazują się źródłem problematycznym, jednak przy zastosowaniu odpowiednich metod statystycznych pewne ich niedoskonałości można poprawić. Ponadto liczne skupienia wieku nie rozstrzygają ostatecznie o wiarygodności spisu, o czym powinna decydować analiza całości – ilości informacji w spisie, staranności i dokładności jego wykonania, porównanie z innymi źródłami, np. spisem Poniatowskiego z 1787 roku.
