This syndrome poses a host of challenges in parturients. It causes hypermobility, pelvic pain, preterm delivery, perineal lacerations, and postpartum hemorrhage. Patients with vascular type EDS are susceptible to vascular and visceral fragility. Obstetricians and anesthesiologists face significant challenges in managing both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
