Capacitances of interconnects are increasing due to minimized wire size and inter wire spacing. As a result, interconnect power consumption, delay, and crosstalk are increasing significantly, which is affecting overall interconnect performance. Various techniques such as buffer insertion, shielding, skewing, and encoding are used to minimize delay, crosstalk, and power consumption. This paper studies a set of encoding methods for reducing power consumption, crosstalk, and delay, and also presents a comprehensive comparison and analysis of these encoding techniques.Read More
