Title: Expression of TGFβ1、Endoglin in human oral squamous cell carcinoma and their significances
Abstract: Objective:To study the expression of transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1)?Endoglin(CD105)in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Method:42 cases of OSCC and 14 cases of normal oral mucosa were examined with immunohistochemical staining for the expression of TGF-β1? Endoglin and the relationship of expression of TGF-β1 and Endoglin was evaluated.Result:Immunoreaction to TGF-β1 were expressed in OSCC and normal oral mucosa. TGF-β1 were overexpressed in OSCC compared with those in normal oral mucosa, the expression of TGF-β1 reached peak in poor differentiated OSCC(48.94±11.01).Expression of CD105 was negative in all normal oral mucosa tissues and positive in all OSCC tissues. In OSCC,immunostaiming to CD105 was found both in the nest and those adjacent to the nest, and CD105-MVD increased sharply as differentiation became poor(16.73±3.63).The expression of TGF-β1 sigificantly correlated with the MVD of CD105(r=0.648,p0.01)Conclusion:TGF-β1?Endoglin may play an important role in OSCC occurrence and development. TGF-β1 and Endoglin could evaluate the prognosis of patient.
