Title: Pidanning in Treatment Of Impaired Glucose Regulation: An Observation of 72 Cases
Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of Pidanning on the blood glucose,beta cell function and insulin resistance of patients with impaired glucose regulation.Methods: 72 patients with IGR were randomly divided into two groups,34 cases in treatment group,38 cases in the control group.Two groups' patients after health education were given diet and exercise therapy for diabetes.On this foundation,the treatment group added the lifestyle interventions based on Herbal Drug Decoction Pidanning,1 bag for each time,twice a day,30 min after breakfast and dinner,a course of 4 weeks.The control group received Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet orally,half an hour before meals,7-10 tablets for each time,3 times a day.Observations of BMI,fasting and postprandial plasma glucose,fasting insulin and 2h calculation of HOMA-β,HOMA-IR were carried on.Results: In the treatment group and the control group,fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance of blood glucose in the treatment of 2 h after water average decreased compared with those before treatment,and there were significant differences(P 0.05).The fasting insulin levels in Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group had no change,and that in Pidanning group had significant difference(P 0.05).Pidanning group and Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group could improve insulin resistance.HOMA-IR in Pidanning group had a significant difference compared with those before treatment(P 0.05).Jinqi Jiangtang Tablet group's pancreatic islet beta cell function showed no improvement after treatment.HOMA-β in Pidanning group had improved significantly than that before treatment(P 0.05).Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine decoction for treating spleen settling on impaired glucose regulation,can improve insulin resistance and beta cell function,effectively reduce the fasting glucose level,2 h postprandial blood glucose levels and improve the prognosis of the patients prognosis.The drug has no adverse effects,but has significant efficacy.
