Abstract: High learner autonomy contributes to effective learning.With High learner autonomy,students take control over their own learning develop independent learning skills.Whether students have high learner autonomy in their spare time is essential to the success of their study.A case of a reform in English course assessment system in Zhejiang Vocational College of Commerce has proved that it is a practical and effective way to reform the existing summative assessment system focusing on the final examination to formative assessment depending on daily performances,which will cultivate learner autonomy and improve the effect of English learning.
