Title: Viewing Vocabulary Instruction from the Theory of the Mental Lexicon
Abstract: The theory of the mentaJ lexicon has revealed some innate features of vocabulary acquisition. It shows us that vocabulary learning is not a problem of simplistic and mechanic memorization. Thus, based on a brief review of the theory of the mental lexicon, this paper analyzes the possible applications of the theory to vocabulary instruction.
