Title: Analysis on Turning Characteristics of Three-axle Steering Vehicles
Abstract: Multi-axis steering vehicle fixed ratio steering system model and lateral dynamics model are established. By comparison to the low-speed turning radius of two models with fixed ratio steering, the rationality of lateral dynamics model is verified. Based on this model, the low-speed turning radius and high-speed handling stability are respectively analyzed with the ratio of front wheel to rear wheel fixed and the ratio changing with the speed. The results showed that the fixed ratio steering system has good low-speed maneuverability, but its high-speed stability is poor; the other steering system not only enhances vehicle mobility, but also improves the vehicle's high-speed stability.
