Title: Diagnostic value of portable sleep monitor in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of portable sleep monitor(PM) in the diagnosis of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAHS). Methods PM system was applied to 156 patients with snoring. If the patient was diagnosed as OSAHS by PM,further examination was performed by polysomnography(PSG). The results were analyzed to compare the difference of each parameter between the PM and PSG in the fol-low-up. Results 124 patients were diagnosed to be OSAHS and 32 patients be simple snore by PM in 156 patients. There was no significant difference in apnea hypopnea index(AHI),oxygen desaturation index(ODI),the lowest SpO2(LSpO2) and the mean SpO2(MSpO2) between the two kinds of monitoring systems(P 0. 05). Conclusion As a simple, convenient and sensitive detection method with high diagnostic value for OSAHS,PM is worthy of widely clinical application in primary-care hospital.
