Title: Application of polysomnography in surgical efficacy observation of children with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome
Abstract: Objective To investigate the application of polysomnography(PSG) in the surgical efficacy evaluation of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Methods 84 children with OSAHS were selected,of which 54 children had grade Ⅱ palatine tonsil hypertrophy and above and 30 children had adenoidal hypertrophy.Preoperative and postoperative PSG monitoring was conducted in order to evaluate the surgical efficacy. Results After the surgery, the lowest oxygen saturation(LSaO2) increased significantly, the apnea hypopnea index(AHI) and the TS90 were decreased significantly, the differences were all statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion Giving the PSG monitoring to the children provides accurate data for the diagnosis of upper respiratory tract obstruction.taking the PSG monitoring before and after the tonsils and/or adenoid resection can evaluate the surgical efficacy objectively.
