Title: Clinical observation on the artificial liver support system in the treatment of severe hepatitis.
Abstract: Objective To study the efficacy of artificial liver support system(ALSS) in the treatment of severe hepatitis patients. Methods The treated group of 47 patients suffering from severe hepatitis were terated with ALSS. The control group of 94 cases were only treated with conventional therapy. Results In treated group, liver functions of the patients improved after ALSS therapy. The total effective rates were 59.57% in treated group and 40.42% in contol group. Significant difference were observed between the two groups(P0.05). In early stage and middle stage of severe hepatitis, effective rate in the treated group was 100%,and effective rate in the control group was 51.66%. The effective rate in the treated group was significantly higher than that of control group (P0.005). But no significant difference in effective rate between the treated group(20.83%)and control group(6%) in late stage of severe hepatitis was observed(P0.1). Conclusion Artificial liver support system is effective for treatment of severe hepatitis in early stage.
