Title: Clinical evaluation of treatment with artificial liver support system on severe viral hepatitis
Abstract: Objective To study the therapeutic effect of artificial liver support system (ALSS) on severe viral hepatitis.Methods The patients in the present study were allocated either into a treatment group or a control group.the treatment group consisted of 17 patients,received a bombined hepatotherapy with ALSS.the control group consisted of 21 patients,received a combined hepatotherapy.Results The level of total serum bilirubin was obviously decreased from 459.28μmol/L to 246.18μmol/L(P0.05).The prothrombin time was significantly shortened from 29.13″ to 20.59″(P0.05).The general survival rate was 58.5%(10/17),was clearly higher than the control group 19%(4/21)(P0.01).The survival rate in early and medial stages was 75%.Complications of ALSS included rash,hypotension etc.most patients could tolerated.Conclusion ALSS has good effects in the treatment of the patients with severe viral hepatitis.especially in early and medial stage.
