Title: Efficacy of Alprostadil Injection for Acute Cerebral Infarction and Its Effects on Mean Platelet Volume and Plasma Fibrinogen
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To observate the effects of alprostadil injection for acute cerebral infarction and on mean platelet volume(MPV) and plasma fibrinogen level.METHODS: 120 patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into either control group(n=60) receiving conventional therapy or treatment group(n=60) treated with add-on alprostadil injection(10 μg once a day) by intravenous drip infusion. The therapeutic efficacy,MPV and plasma fibrinogen level were evaluated at 0 and 14 days, respectively.RESULTS: The excellent response rate in the treatment group was significant higher than in the control group(46.66% vs.21.67%) and the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).After treatment, the treatment group showed significantly greater reduction in MPV and plasma fibrinogen than did the control group(P0.05 for both).CONCLUSION: Alprostadil may improve hypercoagulable state by reducing the mean platelet volume and plasma protein fibrinogen level, and it plays a positive role in the treatment of patients with cerebral infarction.
