Title: The Process Mineralogy of a Tourmaline-rich Hydrothermal Tungsten-tin Ore
Abstract: This paper studies the process mineralogy of a tourmaline-rich hydrothermal tungsten-tin ore by means of chemical analysis, microscope and Automatic Quantitative Mineral technology MLA.The study focuses on identifying the mineral composition and content in the ore,the dissemination characteristics of tungsten and tin minerals, the occurrence of tungsten and tin elements. The results indicate that the main tungsten mineral is scheelite, and the tin mineral is cassiterite. The mean of gravity separation is considered to be effective to recycle scheelite and cassiterite. But the experimental study of heavy liquid separation shows that recycling scheelite and cassiterite by means of gravity separation is affected by large numbers of tourmaline with medium density in the ore. This tourmaline leads to obscure gravity separation stratification and influence the expecting recovery due to high content of tungsten-tin elements.
