Abstract: Objective To explore the efficacy of focus psychological nursing on the improvement of depressive state in the patients with congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods One hundred and seventy-one patients suffering from CHF were enrolled and accepted the investigation of CES-D. Among them, 67 patients (39. 2%) were confirmed to have depression. Then, 62 patients with depression were divided into two groups according to their own will. Thirty patients in the control group received routine and simple psychological nursing, and the remaining 32 patients in the observation group were subjected to focus psychological nursing on the basis of above measures. Results After nursing care for 14 days, grades of CES-D were substantially lower in the observation group than in the control group (P0. 01). In addition, remission extent of clinical symptoms was more satisfactory in the observation group than in the control group and before intervention. Conclusion The incidence of depressive states is high and focus psychological nursing contributes to relieve depression in patients with CHF.
