Title: Subsequent treatment on low fertilization rate and fertilization failure in conventional IVF-ET cycles and analysis on clinical outcome
Abstract: Objective: To explore the subsequent treatment on low fertilization rate and fertilization failure in conventional in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer( IVF-ET) cycles and analyze the clinical outcome. Methods: A total of 556 patients receiving IVF assisted reproductive technique were analyzed retrospectively, including 126 patients receiving early rescue intracytoplasmic sperm injection( R-ICSI) because of low fertilization rate or fertilization failure( group A),33 patients receiving rescue ICSI on the next morning( group B),and 397 patients receiving ICSI directly( group C); the normal fertilization rates, abnormal fertilization rates, cleavage rates,high-quality embryo rates, clinical pregnancy rates, embryo implantation rates, and abortion rates in the three groups were compared. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in normal fertilization rate, cleavage rate,high-quality embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate, and abortion rate between group A and group C( P 0. 05); the normal fertilization rate,high-quality embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and embryo implantation rate in group A were statistically significantly higher than those in group B( P 0. 05).Conclusion: Short-period fertilization combined with early R-ICSI can find and rescue fertilization failure timely to improve embryonic potential and achieve good clinical outcome.
