Title: Expression of cell-cycle related protein p16、Rb、cyclin D1 in cervical carcinogenesis
Abstract: Objective To study the expression of p16,cyclin D1 and Rb in the carcinogenesis of cervix. Methods Using S-P immunohistochemical technique,we examined the expression of p16,cyclin D1 and Rb in 10 cases of normal cervical tissues,10 chronic cervicitis,10 cervical intraepithelial neoplasias (CIN) and 59 invasive squamous cell carcinoma (CIN). Results 20.0% (2/10) CIN and 28.8% cervical carcinomas (17/59) showed negative p16 staining ( P 0.05). Rb was expressed in 52 of 59 (88.1%) cases of cervical carcinomas. In cervical carcinogenesis,with the lesions progressing,the overexpression rate of cyclin D1 protein had a increasing tendency (10.0%→40.0%→74.6%). Conclusion Inactivation of p16 may be involved in the genesis of human cervical carcinoma. Rb may be functionally inactivated in cervical cancer. Overexpression of cyclin D1 may have a significant role in the pathogensis of invasive cervical squamous carcinoma.\;
