Title: Geological Characteristics of the Songshunangou Gold Deposit in Qinghai Province
Abstract: Thw Songshunangou gold deposit in Qinghai province lies in the northern Qilian Mountains that was a circum-Pacific type subduction zone.It was formed in the granodiorite porphyry and the contact zone with country rocks during Indo-China and Yanshan time.According to the analyzes of geological, geophysical, and geochemical characteristics,we suggest that the gold deposit has experienced Caledonian volcanic activities and Variscan to Indo-China magmatic intrusion stage. The ultimate formation of the gold deposit is related to the activities of large-scale shear structure and fluid, which were resulted from the Variscan to Indo-chinese orogenetic processes, which made the original mineral substance reactivate, migrate, accumulate and deposit. The Songshunangou gold deposit can be classified into an orogenic porphyry gold deposit which has a medium size of reserve and good prospect of exploration.
