Title: H-uvulopalatopharyngoplasty in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome
Abstract: Objective To explore the efficacy of H-uvulopalatopharyngoplasty( H-UPPP) in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome( OSAHS). Methods Thirty cases were treated with H-uvulopalatopharyngoplasty and followed up for 1 month to 1years. Polysomnography( PSG) was given 6 months after operation to analyze the efficacy. Results The six-month postoperative curative effect was as follows: 5 cases were cured,15 cases markedly effective,8 cases effective, and 2 cases invalid. The 6-month and 1-year postoperative efficiency rates were 93. 3% and 91. 3%,respectively. Six-month postoperative PSG monitoring showed that apnea hypopnea index( AHI),the lowest oxygen saturation( LSa O2) and the clinical symptoms were improved obviously after operation. Conclusions The application of H-UPPP based on the palate, tongue anatomical structure in the treatment of patients with severe OSAHS has achieved a good curative effect. Postoperative pharyngeal cavity is close to the normal anatomic form, and there are less postoperative complications and can be easily accepted by patients, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
