Title: Study on treating organic-industrial wastewater by ethylenediamine-grafted flocculant
Abstract: A new type of cationic flocculant——ethylenediamine-grafted flocculant was synthesized based on Mannich reactions from polyacrylamide, formaldehyde, ethylenediamine. The optimum conditions of the grafted flocculant was determined as follows:the molar ratio of polyacrylamide, formaldehyde and dimethylamine was 1∶1.40∶0.67,pH was 10,the temperature of reaction was 45 ℃ and the time of reaction was 4 h.Ethylenediamine-grafted flocculant's treatment of simulated industrial wastewater were showed to obtain remarkable efficiency:COD of contained benzene waste water was 450.326 mg/L,after processing the residual of COD was 66.502 mg/L.The elimination rate was 88.44%.COD of contained hydrocarbon wastewater was 695.060 mg/L with the grafted flocculant residual COD was 65.990 mg/L,removal efficiency reached 90.19%,which meets the Grade-I of national industrial wastewater emission standard.
