Title: On Fundamental Issues of Critical Discourse Analysis
Abstract: The birth and development of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is a great challenge and negation to the asocial and uncritical perspective held by the mainstream formal linguistics. The article seeks, then, to explore the most fundamental issues of CDA. It is argued here that CDA examines, based on the recognition of the constructive function of language, the hegemonic discourse and the ontological text, the political and the institutional discourses, a thorough understanding of which requires a cross-cultural cognition.
